Yohanis Amador

Yohanis Amador is an Indigenous Woman from the Zenú People. She was born in the San Andrés de Sotavento reserve, on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. 

She works and has been working with Indigenous Peoples and organizations on issues related to personal and intercultural health, autonomy, governance, family, intergenerational exchange of knowledge, administration of justice, and control mechanisms. She participated in the development, monitoring and evaluation of community projects. 

She studied psychology and specialized in international cooperation and development project management. 

In the future, Yohanis plans to return to her community in order to work in much closer connection to the people. This way, she will also be able to be closer to her family, to nature and to her canine children.
