Member of the General Assembly
She is an Inuit woman with a university degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh (Scotland). Her work and activism focus on promoting the rights of indigenous Inuit peoples, specifically on equal access to education. She has developed learning modules for teachers on culture, identity, indigenous rights, and intercultural learning. She was Head of the Department of Higher Education, Inerisaavik, at the University of Greenland. In 2015, she attended the Columbia University Human Rights Defenders program. Presently, she works as a National Defender (Commissioner) for the Rights of Childhood, belongs to our General Assembly, and works with organizations from Alaska and Canada on Inuit education issues.
