Sandra is a Wannyi/Kalkadoon woman with a law degree and a master’s in human rights. Her areas of work include legal guidelines, constitutional law, tort law, criminal law, and workplace law. 

For seven years, she worked with Indigenous Peoples and crime victims as a community liaison officer with the Queensland Legal Aid Office. She has also led workshops on human rights and other legal issues, and has participated in the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. 

Today, in addition to running her own human rights consulting business, she is a member of the Australian Indigenous Peoples Group, a Professor of Law at Deakin University’s Koorie Institute of Education, and our treasurer.
