Pilar Marín
Pilar was born in Guatemala, and is very committed to the processes of sustainable human development in her country and in Latin America. For over 25 years, she has been working in the administration and management of development projects, with an approach based on multiculturalism and the respect of diversity.
Before joining FIMI, Pilar worked in different fields. She coordinated a project of HIV prevention in vulnerable populations for UNAIDS, and led systematization processes, control mechanisms, and administration work for the Guatemalan Secretariat of Social Works. Prior to that, she worked for more than 16 years at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), where she gained experience and knowledge in strategic planning, results-based management, and sustainable human development.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on finance, as well as a master’s degree in organizational governance and culture. She also completed a diploma program in fundraising.
Pilar loves to paint, spend time with her family and travel to learn about other cultures. Her contact with underprivileged populations led her to seek to build, through her work, a fairer and more equal society for all.
