Photo Coverage | 25 Years Weaving Together for Our Rights

From June 19 to 21, 2025, the city of Lima embraced us as a space of gathering, memory, and projection. Indigenous Women leaders from the seven sociocultural regions of the world —Africa; the Arctic; Asia; Central and South America and the Caribbean; Eastern Europe, the Russian Federation, Central Asia and Transcaucasia; North America; and the Pacific— came together with strategic allies to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the International Indigenous Women’s Forum (FIMI), celebrating a quarter-century of collective leadership, rights advocacy, and the building of transformative alliances.

On the first day, we opened with the Donor Gathering, a space of deep connection, healing, listening, and strategic dialogue. We acknowledged the journey we have walked and the essential role of those who have accompanied and sustained our processes, envisioning reciprocal, respectful, and sustainable relationships that contribute to improving the living conditions of Indigenous Women and their communities, and honoring Mother Earth.

The second day was a tribute to our founders—a day to honor memories, share knowledge, highlight progress, and center the priorities of territorial justice, just transition, climate resilience, and holistic autonomy, from the voices of Indigenous Women leaders.

The third day closed with strength, hope, and emotion. We came together again in symbolic, political, and emotional ways. We reaffirmed the value of our narratives, strengthened the intergenerational movement, and wove collective dreams for the next 25 years.

This photo coverage captures some of the most meaningful moments of this historic gathering: ceremonies, embraces, reflections, dialogues, songs, and gazes that tell the living story of a movement that continues to grow.Thank you to all who have been part of this path.
We continue weaving collectively for equality.
